Hours ago, Evin Prison was the target of military attacks by the belligerent and aggressive Israeli government. During this attack, a number of prisoners were injured. This attack is a clear crime against defenseless political and civil prisoners, who are unable to defend themselves during airstrikes inside closed rooms; prisoners who are themselves victims of the oppressive regime of the Islamic Republic. The attack on Evin Prison shows the common harmony of the two criminal regimes in suppressing defenseless political prisoners. The responsibility for whatever happens to any prisoner lies with both belligerent and oppressive governments, and they are the ones who must be held accountable for their actions.

While the Israeli government claims that the heads of state are the targets of its attacks, in practice it does not even care about the health of political prisoners opposing the regime. Targeting Evin Prison shows that the main victims in this war are the people. If the Islamic Republic regime, by arresting and imprisoning political and social activists, wants to distance them from the struggle for freedom, the war-mongering Israeli government seeks to destroy them by directly attacking them.

The Left Party of Iran calls on compatriots inside and outside the country to intensify the campaign for an immediate end to the war and an unconditional ceasefire in any way possible, with a coordinated and unified voice, while at the same time continuing the struggle against the Islamic Republic and for the unconditional release of all political and ideological prisoners.

This war is not a war of the Iranian people; it is a war of two criminal governments. The people are the only victims of this war and massacre. The big powers should know that the Iranian people will not forget their support for the aggression against Iran and the killing of innocent people.
