Intensification of Repression, Arrests and Summons of Civil and Political Activists!
November 4, 2025
In continuation of the threats and summons and arrests of activists from various social and political strata, yesterday several other intellectuals and researchers were arrested or summoned: Parviz Sedaghat, Rasoul Ghanbari, Mahsa Asadollahnejad, Shirin Karimi and Mohammad Maljou and Hadi Jalali, a teacher from Kerman. Also, retired teacher Mohammad Hassan Davoudi was sentenced to three years and four months in prison and Forough Khosravi, a teacher from Behbahani, was sentenced to five years in prison.
The sentences of four Kurdish teachers were also confirmed by the Administrative Court of Justice and Heyman Rahimi, a Kurdish writer and translator, was also arrested.
At the same time, threatening messages were sent to a number of other activists from labor, student and civil spectra. Several teachers were arrested. These measures are taking place in the continuation of a new wave of arrests and repressions and are not a sign of a temporary and accidental policy, but rather a clear expression of the true nature of a system that has stirred up so much anger and hatred among the people for more than four decades with repression, corruption, theft, discrimination and injustice that every small move terrifies the regime. The regime shows this fear by intensifying the growing wave of repressions.
The Left Party of Iran, while declaring its disgust with the oppressive regime of the Islamic Republic, calls on all popular forces, workers, women, national and ethnic movements, students, artists and intellectuals to unite their voices and cries of protest against this invasion.
We believe that the future of Iran will pass through the path of the burial of the ruling tyranny. However, democracy and justice will be realized by uniting the ranks of the leftist and republican forces and movements and all people who have made justice and freedom the goal of their struggle.
