The Aggression Against Venezuela is a Clear Violation of International Laws! We Strongly Condemn this Aggression!

According to circulated reports, forces affiliated with the United States, on the orders of Trump, have arrested Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife in an unprecedented move. News reports indicate that they have transferred the two to the United States. This bandit operation is a clear violation of Venezuela’s national sovereignty and trampling on international law and has presented the world with a worrying reality.
The arrest of the president of one country at the decision of the president of another is the height of disregard for international laws. This trend is pushing the world further and further towards normalizing the rule of force instead of respecting international laws. In such a world, the will of great powers determines the intervention in the fate of other countries, and any political disagreement can become an excuse for direct intervention. The consequence of such a situation is the discrediting of international institutions and the spread of instability, arms race, and the insecurity of the lives of millions of people around the world.
The Left Party of Iran condemns the open aggression against Venezuela. This act is a deliberate trampling of international law and a dangerous turning point in the collapse of the world's legal order. We emphasize that no power has the right to consider itself the judge, prosecutor, and executor of the fate of nations. Defending freedom, democracy, and human rights does not go through coups and military intervention. The Left Party of Iran calls on all progressive forces, democratic institutions, peace movements and awakened consciences of the world to stand against the normalization of this dangerous logic and, while clearly condemning this banditry, defend the right of nations to determine their destiny and a just and law-based order.
