Message to the Communist Party of Canada
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding
Dear Comrades,
On behalf of all members of the Left Party of Iran (People's Fadaian) please accept our sincere greetings on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Canada.
Inspired by the victory of the October Revolution in Russia, the Communist Party of Canada was founded on May 1921 as an illegal organization in a rural warehouse near Guelph, Ontario. The party has since fought hard and selflessly to achieve its goals.
Your party's ongoing struggle to achieve the goals of free education for all, the expansion of universal health care, the protection and expansion of the public pension system with sufficient benefits, an end to all forms of gender discrimination and violence against women, and opposition to all forms of racism and discrimination, and many other noble goals is admirable.
In the current situation where the world is facing many problems and unpredictable events, we believe that the joint presence and activity of the left and progressive forces of the world is more important. The fact that these forces belong to various leftist factions, including the Assembly of Communist and Workers' Parties, the International Socialists, the European Left Party or the Green Left parties should not be a reason for their disconnection and lack of cooperation for common challenges such as combating human rights abuses, fighting for peace and nuclear disarmament, environmental protection, women's rights and many other areas that are our common goals.
We look forward to participating and collaborating effectively with you to achieve the above mentioned goals.
