We condemn the evacuation of Palestinians from their homes and the tension and killing of people!

The solution is to form two governments and two nations in coexistence with each other!

Tensions between the right-wing Israeli government, on the one hand, and the Palestinians, on the other, have reached dangerous proportions. The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, declared a state of emergency on Tuesday night in the predominantly Palestinian city of 'Led', where tensions left at least 12 people injured. The Mayor of the city described the situation as a "civil war." Clashes, rocket fires and bombardments have escalated to the point where the UN envoy has warned that the situation is moving at an "uncontrollable pace" towards "full-scale war".

We condemn the evacuation of Palestinians from their homes and the tension and killing of people!

The new wave of tensions between Israel and the Palestinians began after the ruling of the Israeli Supreme Court on the forced evacuation of residents of the 'Sheikh Jarrah' area in East Jerusalem. The initial verdict had been issued by a lower court last November and it was immediately challenged by the Palestinians. However, warnings from the Autonomous Palestinian authorities, the Jordanian government, and a large group of members of the British Parliament, world public opinion and international institutions about the dire consequences of this decision did not materialize. The rulings even runs counter to the obligations that the Israeli government itself formally accepted in a 1956 agreement with the Jordanian government that families living in the disputed units have the right to reside in them, at least for the rest of their lives. Nevertheless, settlers claim the site as their historical belonging, citing the justification that Palestinians' "occupied" houses were built on the land paid for by the Jews in the 19th century. The deputy mayor of Jerusalem claims: "Wherever and whenever the Jews succeed in settling in Jerusalem, I see it as an auspicious event".

The Palestinian protests were initially peaceful. The vigilance and violence of the Israeli police on the eve of Eid al-Fitr in Al-Aqsa Mosque caused the protests to spread to other areas and spread from the West Bank to Gaza and the Arab settler areas of Israel. The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza says 35 people, including 12 children and three women, have been killed and 233 wounded in recent Israeli bombings. Hamas rockets have also killed two Israelis and wounded several others.

The Israeli government's coercive policy of continuing to occupy the Palestinian territories and disregarding all UN resolutions on the evacuation of these territories is the main source of continuing tensions between the two nations and escalating it into one of the unresolved problems in the region. This government is the main obstacle for the possibility of achieving peace between Palestine and Israel. Meanwhile, the right-wing Israeli government led by Benjamin Netanyahu has stalled virtually any de-escalation as well as international efforts in this area by shutting down peace talks and further escalating hostilities. The increasing role of Jewish extremist parties in Israeli political administration in recent decades has further alienated the government from an impartial solution to this dilemma.

The Left Party of Iran (People's Fadaian) condemns the escalation of the crisis between the Israeli government and the Palestinians, the Israeli government's aggressive actions in the settlement project, and the repressive measures and subsequent military operations, as well as Hamas' shelling of Israeli cities. Once again, we reiterate that there is no military solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The Israeli government must stop occupying and violating the rights of the Palestinian people and the international community must not allow repressing and the killing of Palestinians to continue. There is no doubt that neither the ultra-Jews will be able to oust the Palestinians from Israel and turn Jerusalem into their "historic capital of the Jewish people", nor the irresponsible slogan of "Destroying Israel" which is practically against the interests of the Palestinian people can materialize. The people of Israel and Palestine need an urgent ceasefire in the present moment and an end to the war forever. The prerequisite for ending all kinds of tensions and wars is to return to the negotiating table by the Israeli government and accepting the coexistence of two states and two nations in the area. Our party supports the UN resolutions on the cessation of settlements in the occupied territories and the return of Israel to the 1967 borders. We support any international efforts in this direction.
