We are approaching the first of May, International Workers' Day. What is the significance of this day for Iranian workers? Why should they take to the streets on this day, to protest and rejoice, and to celebrate this day. While the celebration of May Day is still forbidden in Iran, why should the workers try every year to break the bans and being attacked
by the security forces and detained and even sentenced to occasional long-term imprisonments?
