متن نامه به آقای آنتونیو گوترش، دبیر کل سازمان ملل متحد

جناب آقای آنتونیو گوترش دبیر کل سازمان ملل متحد،

شیوع ویروس کرونا و بیماری کووید ۱۹ در بیش از ۱۱۸ کشور از ۵ قاره جهان، از جمله در ایران، ابعاد تهدید آمیز این پاندمی را آشکار کرده است. متأسفانه بسیاری از عوامل، از جمله ناکارآمدی مدیران سیاسی حکومت ایران و نیز فرسودگی اقتصاد منتج از تحریمهای یکجانبۀ دولت امریکا علیه ایران، موجب گسترش بی مهار ابعاد اپیدمی در کشور ما بوده اند.

شما به درستی خروج یکطرفه ایالات متحده آمریکا از قرارداد اتمی با جمهوری اسلامی ایران در اوت ۲۰۱۸ را نادرست و آن را به زیان صلح جهانی دانستید. پیامد این خروج، تشدید تحریم های یکجانبه اقتصادی آمریکا علیه ایران بود؛ اقدامی که بر توان کل جامعه ایران عواقب مخربی ببار آورده است. در نتیجه این تحریم ها، تا کنون بیش از همه اقشار ضعیف و کم درآمد، مزدبگیران، کودکان و زنان زیان دیده اند، و اینک در شرایط هجوم ویروس کرونا، این تمام مردم ایران اند- و ای بس فراتر از ایران- که در معرض عواقب این اقدام قرار گرفته اند.

ما با وقوف به اعلام همبستگی سازمان ملل متحد با مردم و دولت ایران در شرایط شیوع این بیماری و اینکه ایران میتواند روی سیستم حمایتی سازمان ملل از جمله سازمان بهداشت جهانی حساب کند، از شما تقاضا داریم:

- برای متوقف کردن همه محدودیت های مبادلات پزشکی و بهداشتی ناشی از تحریمها علیه ایران، تمام مساعی خود را در سازمان ملل و شورای امنیت به کار بندید.

- همزمان جمهوری اسلامی ایران را برای شفافیت، جامعیت و اولویت بخشیدن به اقدامات خود برای سلامت همه شهروندان در مبارزه با ویروس کرونا، برانگیزید.

پیشاپیش از مساعی شما و سازمان تحت مسولیت تان تشکر می کنیم.

Dear Mr. António Guterres,

The outbreak of Coronavirus in every continent and in more than 118 countries including Iran has revealed the threatening dimensions of this pandemic. Unfortunately, many factors including the inefficiency of the political leaders of the Iranian government as well as the economic breakdown resulting from the unilateral US sanctions against Iran have contributed to the spreading of the epidemic in our country.

You rightfully interpreted the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran on August 2018 a mistake and you considered it to the detriment of world peace. The result was intensifying of US unilateral economic sanctions against Iran which has had devastating impacts on the entire Iranian society. As a result of the sanctions the poor, low-income portion of the population, children and women have been affected. Now, with the spread of Coronavirus all Iranian people are feeling the impact of US withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Iran.

We, therefore, appeal to you to:

- Use all your efforts at the United Nations and the Security Council to halt all restrictions on the medical and health trade resulting from sanctions against Iran.

- At the same time, urge the Islamic Republic of Iran to be transparent, inclusive and prioritize its actions for the health of all citizens in the fight against the Coronavirus.

We are aware of the United Nations solidarity with the Iranian people and government in the outbreak of the disease and that Iran can count on the UN support system, including the World Health Organization.
