The Left Party of Iran condemns the open aggression against Venezuela. This act is a deliberate trampling of international law and a dangerous turning point in the collapse of the world's legal order. We emphasize that no power has the right to consider itself the judge, prosecutor, and executor of the fate of nations. Defending freedom, democracy, and human rights does not go through coups and military intervention.

As we condemn this flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter, we demand an immediate halt to the aggression, the lifting of the blockade on the Venezuelan people, and the release of the abducted president.

Iran’s water crisis is the result of a series of incorrect political, economic, and managerial decisions—but it is not yet too late. Acknowledging the reality of the crisis, ensuring transparency, engaging public participation, and moving away from rent-driven, structure-centered development toward sustainable, balanced, and justice-oriented development are the prerequisites for beginning the path to water salvation.

On the eve of the New Year, the Left Party of Iran, relying on the international solidarity of progressive humanity and believing in its power to bring about change, congratulates all freedom-loving, egalitarian, and peace-loving people on this New Year. We hope that in the New Year, wars will stop all over the world, especially in Gaza and Ukraine, and that humanity will be able to control the flames of wars in the world.

The Left Party of Iran calls on all social, trade union, and civil forces, parties, and political organizations that support the interests of different segments of the people to strengthen the people's struggle against poverty and deprivation and against the Islamic Republic, as the main cause of the current miserable situation, in every possible way.

The Left Party of Iran, like all those who fight for freedom, social justice, and human rights, condemns the execution of Aqeel Keshavarz. A regime that deprives people of their right to life cannot continue its shameful life. As a left-wing political party and advocate of freedom and democracy, we call on political parties, organizations, democratic institutions, and human rights activists to unite and make their voices heard against these crimes.

Let us note that the main target of the struggle is the Islamic Republic. This goal should not be overshadowed by dealing with the ugly and destructive actions of extremist forces defending the monarchy and Reza Pahlavi. The Islamic Republic, which is currently caught in multiple crises and fight against each other internally, is struggling to save its own life by diverting our struggle to get rid of this regime from its main goal. Let us be vigilant not to fall into this trap.

We respectfully urge you, and the relevant United Nations mechanisms, to call on the Iranian authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Ms. Narges Mohammadi and all others detained for peacefully exercising their fundamental rights, including the right to mourn. We also ask that the United Nations to closely monitor the circumstances surrounding Mr. Alikordi’s death, the treatment of mourners, and the conditions of detention of those currently imprisoned.

Prior to these changes, the region’s conservative Arab regimes, as well as Israel, regarded the Iranian regime as their most dangerous and loathsome enemy. Now, however, Arab regimes recognise Israeli expansionism as their most serious threat

What will ultimately safeguard the country from both internal and external threats is the solidarity of its people and their continued, expanding struggle to secure their fundamental hum an and civil rights. The efforts of social movements to open political space and advance human rights are essential to bringing about the decline of the Islamic Republic

It is clear that with the continuation of the current policies, the crises will intensify and the conditions will become more difficult for the majority of the people day by day. In the meantime, only the people themselves can put pressure on the regime by expanding solidarity and undertaking a targeted struggle, imposing their demands on the regime, and preparing the conditions for the democratic reconstruction of society. However, we should not wait until then and not take advantage of the opportunities and possibilities that arise to reduce the pressure of the crisis.

n the eyes of the West, Iran’s policy of regional dominance is an absolute red line. One of the main instruments of Iran’s strategy is ‘forward defence’ - an alliance with Hezbollah and others.  This is now in taters. What is the regime going to do about it? The Middle East, including Iran, needs a long period of peace and stability.

The fire in the Hyrcanian forests of Mazandaran is not just a natural disaster, it is a clear sign of the structural incompetence of the Islamic Republic. Forests that are millions of years old and are a common human heritage are burning today before the eyes of a nation, because the regime that should be responsible for protecting them does not feel any responsibility towards the people and land of Iran.

The popular movements of our country from January 2017 to November 2019 and the “Women, Life, Freedom” movement have changed the face of society, created a new balance of power in it, and imposed an important part of their demands on the government; from dismantling the system of compulsory hijab to breaking the monopoly of the government over the public space of society and deepening its internal divisions. 

We call on all political forces and movements, including the leftist, republican, democrat, and pro-libertarian, to stand up to the oppressive policy of the ruling dictatorial regime to the best of our ability. Strengthening the voices of protest and supporting political prisoners, protesting against executions are necessary steps to prevent the continuation of violence and injustice and revenge on the lives of justice-seeking forces.

The Left Party of Iran, while declaring its disgust with the oppressive regime of the Islamic Republic, calls on all popular forces, workers, women, national and ethnic movements, students, artists and intellectuals to unite their voices and cries of protest against this invasion.

After two years of relentless warfare, Gaza faces a fragile ceasefire that may mark the end of a devastating chapter. Despite enduring immense destruction, famine, and tens of thousands of deaths, Palestinians in Gaza continue to demonstrate resilience and hope for freedom. Israel’s military campaign, though it occupied much of Gaza and inflicted catastrophic damage, failed to eliminate Hamas or secure all hostages

With this ceasefire, Israel—and the United States have achieved most, though not all, of their aims. Israel vowed to obliterate Hamas, but that proved impossible; this very agreement was negotiated, in part, with Hamas representatives. Israel also dreamed of expelling all Gazans to create what Trump once called a “Gazan Riviera,” a plan that has now collapsed into fantasy.

The deployment of Iranian forces on the three islands in November 1971, after the British government withdrew from the Persian Gulf and ended its occupation of these three islands, was in fact the restoration of Iran’s sovereignty over these islands. None of the Iranian governments had recognized the occupation of these islands by the British government, so it was natural for the government at the time to take action to exercise sovereignty over these islands after the occupation was lifted.

Through years of destructive and confrontational policies, including limiting IAEA inspections and blocking negotiations, the Islamic Republic has squandered opportunities to avoid this outcome, driving the nation into one of its gravest crises in decades.

By implementing their destructive policies, the leaders of the Islamic Republic have destroyed the opportunity and possibility of preventing the return of further sanctions and dialogue on differences, and along with them, have brought the country and the people of Iran into one of the most critical situations in recent decades. This regime will not back down from its destructive foreign policy without strong public pressure.

The Left Party of Iran believes that our society today needs an opposition that looks to the future; while explicitly opposing war and aggression by foreign forces and their interference in Iran’s internal affairs, it will pursue a plan to overthrow the Islamic Republic and establish a free and just society for Iran’s future.

The Left Party of Iran believes that the “Women, Life, Freedom” movement has left behind important achievements such as breaking the hegemony of the ruling misogynistic ideology, weakening the religious and political authority of the system, raising public awareness of the link between women's freedom and the liberation of society, and establishing democratic values in Iran's political culture.

From our perspective, this European move represents a step toward weakening diplomacy and facilitating militaristic tendencies in the Middle East.

A potential war in the Middle East would engulf not only Iran and its neighbours but the entire global community. In a world already plagued by the flames of war and poverty in Ukraine, Africa, and elsewhere, the responsibility of Europe and the United Nations to contain new crises is all the more urgent.

Time is critical, and international pressure can play a decisive role in saving Sharifeh Mohammadi’s life. I sincerely hope you will use your platform and leadership to act on this urgent matter.

The Left Party of Iran strongly condemns these inhuman sentences. We call on all progressive forces, labor unions, and human rights institutions to stand against the spread of executions and imprisonment. We call on political parties, organizations, and democratic and civil institutions to work together to defend the lives of Sharifeh Mohammadi and other people facing execution, despite their differences, by emphasizing their commonalities.

Even in Germany, Israel’s second largest arms supplier, public opinion has tilted steeply against Israeli conduct. Most Western politicians have decided to distance themselves (albeit symbolically) from these atrocities.
Israel is facing mounting international condemnation over its genocidal policies. There is a growing sense that Western populations are turning against Israeli atrocities and favour a long-term solution beyond the status quo in Gaza.  Finally, Britain, Canada, and France are moving to join another 147 UN member states in formally recognizing Palestinian statehood. This move is timed to coincide with the upcoming meeting of the UN General Assembly.

Netanyahu has finally dropped all pretence and has ordered the total occupation of Gaza. The first step is to ethnically cleanse Gaza by squeezing Gazans into a concentration camp in the south of the strip. He claims Israel will then hand over Gaza to an “Arab force.” (Who? From where?)

The Left Party of Iran considers the inefficient policies of the Islamic Republic and the corruption of the regime commands as one of the main causes of water and electricity crisis. The regime is also responsible for the intensification of unemployment, goods soaring prices, economic downturn and the increasing fall of the national currency and the purchasing power of the people of Iran. We believe that the way to deal with these devastating policies is to expand collective and organized protests to the level of general strike in order to put an end to the life of the Islamic Republic.

We are now faced with proposals to change the situation or rearrange the existing situation with minor changes, plans for unanimity in the country around the referendum of the Constituent Assembly, and its scrutiny by 17 prominent activists within the country, which are positive signs of serious movements in line with the country's urgent need to carry out fundamental changes in it. We express our deep concern about the situation of political prisoners, foreign nationals in prisons of the Islamic Republic, and Afghan refugees. We ask you to make every effort to ensure that the lives of these prisoners do not become victims of the regime’s disputes with European countries and the United States, through dialogue and interaction with the relevant authorities of the Islamic Republic. We also ask you to make the necessary efforts regarding the fate of the millions of Afghans who have lived in Iran ...as refugees or asylum seekers..

We call on the international and the UN Refugee Commissioner and other international institutions in this field to defend the human rights of Afghan refugees against the Islamic Republic.

The Left Party of Iran considers the struggle for the unconditional freedom of all political and ideological prisoners and to counter the exacerbation of oppression and the atmosphere of repression in the country and emphasizes the necessity of solidarity between progressive and freedom -seeking forces in this regard.
