Letter to the UNICEF Headquarter, UNICEF, United Nations Children's Fund

November 22, 2022

Ladies and Gentlemen
Greetings

As you know, the movement with the slogan "Women, Life, Freedom" in Iran entered its 10th week. In this movement there is more of the young generation of the country who are fighting for their rights and freedoms. Students are widely present in this libertarian movement. They defy the regime's compulsions in school, university and in their daily lives. As usual, the Iranian regime's response is violent repression, beating the protesters, shooting at them, and arresting and imprisoning everyone, including children.

In our country, during the past 9 weeks, at least 402 people have died in mass protests and have been victims of organized regime violence. At least 58 children were among the dead. Kian Pirfalak, a 10-year-old child who was shot and killed in a car with his family on Wednesday, November 16, is one of the victims. Unfortunately, the repressive apparatus of the Islamic Republic has not turned away from any action against the people, and no official has taken responsibility for all these crimes. As we have mentioned before, killing of children in schools has happened repeatedly during this period.

We call on you to act in every viable way against these terrible events in Iran and to protect the lives of children from the aggression of the regime. The United Nations and other competent international organizations are expected to come up with solution to save the lives of children in Iran and force the Islamic Republic to respect the rights of children and the relevant protocols approved by the United Nations.

Yours Sincerely,
The left Party of Iran (People’s Fadaian) – International Relations
