According to the news that has been circulated, the people of Mahabad have been confronting the repression forces of the regime for hours. The news reports that the regime forces are shooting at the people with heavy weapons. They even shell people's houses and shops. Helicopters are circling over the city.
Following Ali Khamenei's threats and following the spread of the Iranian people's revolutionary movement in recent days and on the third anniversary of the November 2019 (Aban 1998) uprising, in which the people of Mahabad city had a significant contribution and the burial of the dead in this city became a resounding public event, the criminal and child-killing regime of the Islamic Republic is trying to take revenge on the people of Mahabad with a brutal attack on this city.
The left party of Iran (People’s Fadaian) calls on the combatant people of other cities and regions to support the people of Mahabad. With the expansion of the combat in other cities, it is possible to help the people of Mahabad and prevent the Islamic Republic from going to war with the people of Mahabad by mobilizing its forces from other regions with heavy weapons.
We ask the United Nations, governments, parliaments, political parties, and human rights organizations to take quick measures to prevent the Islamic Republic from continuing to massacre the people of Mahabad and other Iranian cities.
