Over the past three months, the world has witnessed the suppression of the Iranian people's revolutionary movement by the Islamic Republic. Iranian people have stood up with the slogan "Women, Life, Freedom". During this period alone, the Islamic Republic arrested more than eighteen thousand people, killed nearly five hundred people, sixty-four of whom were children, and injured hundreds of others. Now, to create fear, it has started executing those arrested.
Over the past few days, the Islamic Republic has brutally hanged two of the arrested youths, Mohsen Shekari and Majid Reza Rahnavard. These executions, which are in fact intentional murders by the regime, have been launched with the intention of creating an atmosphere of terror in the society. These murders are not limited to the two cases so far, it is a threat that can be implemented in the case of many thousands of people detained in the last few months.
Our request to the international community, especially the governments that consider themselves committed to human rights and civil liberties, above all, the member states of the European Union and the institutions of this union that have extensive relations with the Islamic Republic, is to stand up against the brutal suppression of the peaceful protests of the people of Iran. We ask them not to limit themselves to issuing resolution and sanctioning the institutions of repression and the members of these institutions. We call on international community to react to the regime of the Islamic Republic regarding the continued killing of the citizens of the country and demand an end to the repression, killing and execution.
The left party of Iran (People’s Fadaian) has always emphasized that the decisive force in the struggle for the overthrow of the Islamic Republic is the people of Iran. However, in the massacre that the Islamic Republic has launched these days against the citizens of the country in the streets of Iran, no awakened conscience can be neutral and just watch. It is clear that the serious and committed response of the international community and all the powers that respect human rights can be effective in helping the people to push back the barbaric regime of the Islamic Republic. We expect all democratic governments that adhere to human rights to recall their ambassadors from Iran in protest against the executions, killings and repression of the Iranian people by the Islamic Republic. This act as a warning can be effective in preventing repression and execution.
We expect the member states of the United Nations, which are committed to the declaration of human rights, to condemn the violation of the principles of the declaration of human rights by the Islamic Republic regarding the citizens of our country and take a clear stand against the recent arbitrary executions.
