The flood has disrupted the lives of the people of Sistan and Baluchistan. So far, nearly 2,000 villages have been destroyed and the houses, roads and electricity supply system of the people of this region have been disrupted. A large part of the agricultural land and people's livestock have been destroyed. The rainfall in the cities of Baluchistan region has not yet ended and the water has not receded, and according to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, a new wave of rain is on the forecast. According to the initial estimate, twenty-two thousand billion rials of damage has been caused to the province's infrastructure so far. Reports from local sources indicate that government aid and assistance groups were not present during the first few days of the flood.
Instead of taking care of the situation of the flood victims and sending them food, medicine and clothes on time, the Islamic Republic uses all its power to create barriers and obstacles in many ways against the assistance of the people of other regions of the country. During this flood, with indescribable shamelessness, instead of helping the flood-affected people, the regime took ballot boxes to the villages in order to increase the number of voters. In some cases, instead of throwing votes in the boxes, angry people destroyed them.
While expressing sympathy and solidarity with the flood-affected people of Sistan and Baluchistan, the Left Party of Iran asks all our dear compatriots to help the flood victims of this region, which is one of the most deprived regions of the country, in any way they can. We call on friends and supporters of our Party to rush to the aid of the flood victims by creating popular institutions, taking advantage of appropriate initiatives and trying to neutralize regime’s obstacles, side by side with the relief forces of the society. We believe that the Islamic Republic has no desire or plan to help the flood victims. The anger of the regime against the people of this region, who did not put down the torch of the struggle against the ruling tyranny and were one of the hot centers of struggle during the revolutionary movement "Women, Life, Freedom", cannot be described. If help to these compatriots is not organized through civil institutions, the people of this region will face a lot of damage and will be left alone.
