We support the struggle for the independence of the Lawyers Associations!
The Deputy of the Judiciary has asked the Lawyers Association and Jurists across the country to comment on Article 22 of the Lawyers Association's Independence, passed in 1954. All suggestions will be amended by the Judiciary and approved by the head of the Judiciary system. Professors of law and more than 12,000 lawyers and members of the country's Lawyers Association have called the move illegal, saying the head of the judiciary lacks the legal authority to pass such regulations. They rightly point out that Article 22 clearly states that the regulation of the by-laws is carried out by the Lawyers Association. For this reason, the draft prepared by the judiciary is considered illegal. Also, assuming that the judiciary is competent, anyone aware of the basics of law knows that the "regulations" cannot violate the principle of the legal bill on the independence of the Lawyers Association. In addition, in a letter published on Monday, May 6, eighteen former judges of the judiciary called the draft of the proposed bylaws of the Judiciary's deputy contrary to Article 22.
The main purpose of this amendment by the judiciary is to destroy lawyer’s independence and to make them reliant on on the judiciary as an important element of the government. The Lawyers Association, some law professors, several lawyers' organizations and more than 12,000 lawyers have stated in separate statements that they oppose the illegal process which undermines lawyers to defend people rightfully and independently.
Any comment on the bylaws or engagement with the Judiciary's deputy to draft the proposal is stepping onto the path of destroying the independent nature and dissolution of the Lawyers Association and the deprivation of the people's right to defend themselves against the government. In particular, the challenges, controversy, and constant turmoil of recent years in the mass media, such as the campaign to eliminate the capacity to hire a lawyer and place lawyers in the ranks of trade unions under the guise of trade unions, show that the process is being reformed. In the midst of the corona crisis, they plan to inflict a fatal blow on the suffering body of lawyers.
The L P I (PF) condemns the government's decision to attack the country's Lawyers Associations and declares its support for the demands of more than 12,000 lawyers and a group of professors and lawyers to oppose the amendment of the regulations and to stop this action
