We condemn the explosion in Natanz!
On April 11, a sabotage and explosion took place at the Natanz nuclear facility, causing extensive damage. Well-known American and Israeli media outlets, including the New York Times and the Jerusalem Post, blamed the Israeli government for the attack but the Israeli government has not officially claimed responsibility. After this sabotage, the Islamic Republic announced that it would launch a 60% uranium enrichment sector.
The purpose of this subversive act is to disrupt the negotiations that have started in connection with Iran's Nuclear Deal (JCPOA). In July of last year, the Natanz advanced centrifuge assembly center was shut down due to an explosion. All evidences point towards the Israeli government's involvement in the explosion. In addition to bombing operations, the issue of naval harassment operations against Iranian ships has also been raised in recent days which is a sign of rising tensions between the two Tel Aviv and Tehran governments. In recent years, the Israeli government has launched a multi-pronged offensive against the Islamic Republic under the pretext of the Islamic Republic's plans in both the nuclear and regional arenas. Resorting to acts such as stealing documents from the nuclear facilities inside Iran, planting its agents in nuclear centers, assassinating the country's nuclear experts, attacking bases and forces of the Islamic Republic in Syria, it has tried to respond to the regime's anti-Israeli sentiments.
For four decades, the Islamic Republic has done a lot to benefit the Netanyahu's right-wing government in Israel with provocative actions, with the slogan of destroying Israel, creating and supporting militant groups in the countries around Israel. This government has made the hostility towards Israel as its main ideological point and one of the pillars of its foreign policy in the region and the world. Both the governments of Israel and the Islamic Republic are terrorist governments. The two governments outdo each other in disrespect for international treaties and agreements. In the current political sphere of Iran, their subversive actions need to be strongly condemned by all democratic institutions and civic forces.
Now that the door to negotiations has been opened, the Israeli government wants to stop the process with these subversive actions. As a result of such actions, it is possible to sever relations with the signatory countries of the JCPOA and as a result the continuation of the harsh sanctions that have ruined the lives of the Iranian people. Israel's destructive action at the Natanz facility also raises the possibility of leaking of radioactive materials that could endanger the lives of the Iranian people. Continuation of such actions will make the region more insecure and will ignite the flames of war.
The Left Party of Iran (People's Fadaian) strongly condemns the explosion at the Natanz facility. This act directly endangers the lives of the Iranian people. These actions will intensify the atmosphere of tension and insecurity. Such an atmosphere may lead to war and destruction of people's livelihood in the region which in turn leads to the rise and the growth of terrorist groups. We call on the political institutions defending peace and freedom, anti-authoritarian activists and pro-democracy advocates to raise their voices in protest against any action that could set the region on fire. We call on the United Nations and international organizations to investigate the sabotage operations at the Natanz nuclear facility and condemn the perpetrators.
