Farhad Meysami, a courageous physician and civil activist of our country, who is imprisoned in Rajaei Prison in Karaj, has started a hunger strike with three demands: "an end to executions linked to the protests, the release of 6 political-civil prisoners and an end to the compulsory dress code for women in Iran." He has demanded the immediate release of Mohammad Habibi (teacher), Nahid Shirbisheh (plaintiff mother), Reza Shahabi (bus driver), Bahare Hedayat (senior university student), Mustafa Nili (lawyer) and Niloufer Hamedi (journalist). If we pay attention to the list of people of this freedom-loving doctor, there are six different faces of political prisoners to symbolically cover all political prisoners.
The Islamic Republic has destroyed Iran in forty-four years, but it has built and expanded its prisons. This regime is alien to the wishes of the people, and in its prisons, the most brutal treatment of prisoners takes place. These pressures fuel resistance and struggle inside the prisons. Farhad Meysami is one of the thousands of courageous fighters who stand against the inhumane pressures and put his body and soul in danger to widen the border of freedom. As a result of the strike, he has become like a skeleton whose examples can only be seen in the camps of Hitler's fascist regime.
The Left Party of Iran (People’s Fadaian) calls on all political parties and organizations, associations and civil institutions, especially human rights institutions, to resound Farhad Meysami's rights-seeking voice and his humanitarian demands in any way they can inside and outside the country. We call on the international democratic assemblies to be mobilized to put pressure on the regime of the Islamic Republic. The repression forces of this regime are tired and worn out under the blows of the people's revolutionary movement, and they use any means to create fear and hold the people back, and they do not turn away from any brutal action. But the people who are determined to overthrow the regime will not remain silent and will continue to fight.
Farhad Meysami's presence is necessary to keep the fight against the infernal rulers alive. Let us assure him that his wish will be followed by the people of Iran. The movement of women, life, freedom, has ignited to fulfill such human desires and will not turn back. Our demand is that dear Farhad changes the form of his struggle so that his dear life remains for us and for the people of Iran. There should be no doubt that the dictatorial and corrupt regime will finally be brought down and the people will embrace all political prisoners in their arms.
