The Charter of 20 Union and Civic Organizations is Democratic and Pioneering!

20 trade union and civil organizations that have been fighting for freedom and equality, eliminating any kind of discrimination, injustice and against corruption, dictatorship and repression for many years, and many activists of these organizations have suffered various deprivations due to their activities, have circulated a democratic charter and have raised public demands of the people An action that is unique in its kind in every respect.
In this manifesto, after describing and analyzing the country's broken state, the presence and role of the revolutionary movement "Woman, Life, Freedom" is emphasized, that this movement "aims to put an end to the formation of any power from above forever and the beginning of a social, modern and humane revolution to free the people from all forms of oppression, discrimination, exploitation, tyranny and dictatorship" and further, it provides twelve provisions about the demands of different social groups, which reflect the interests and demands of all revolutionary groups in the society and can be the pivot of unity For the justice-seeking and egalitarian civil forces in the current situation.

This charter was issued by the Coordinating Council of Trade Union Organizations of Iran, Haft Tappe Sugar Cane Company Workers' Union, the Council for Organizing Protests of Oil Contract Workers, the Independent Voice of Ahvaz National Steel Group Workers, the Kermanshah Electric and Metal Workers Union, the Coordinating Committee to Help Establish Labor Organizations, councils of retirees, high school and university students’ organizations, Human Rights Defenders' Center, Women's Rights Defenders organizations, etc.

The signatory institutions and organizations, along with other similar institutions, are important pillars of the struggle and civil resistance against the Islamic Republic and the defense of people's rights to enjoy a decent life in our country. It is stated in a part of this charter that:

"We, the union and civic organizations and institutions that signed this charter, focusing on the unity and interconnection of social and demand movements and focusing on the struggle to end the existing inhumane and destructive situation, consider the realization of the following minimum demands as the first orders and the result of the fundamental protests of the Iranian people, the only way to build a new, modern and humane society in the country. We ask all noble people who have freedom, equality and liberation in their hearts to raise the flag of these minimum demands from factories to universities and schools and neighborhoods to the world stage."

In the 12 paragraphs of this charter, the important demands of civil struggles at the present moment are stated, including: the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners; unrestricted freedom of opinion, expression and thought, press, partisanship, organization, gatherings, strikes, marches, immediate cancellation of the issuance and execution of any type of death penalty, execution, retribution and prohibition of any type of mental and physical torture, immediate declaration of full equality of women's rights with men in all political, economic, social and cultural and family fields, recognizing the rainbow society of "LGBTQIA+", treating religion as a private matter, providing work safety, job security and immediately increasing the workers, teachers, employees and all employed and retired workers’ wage with the presence and intervention and agreement of elected representatives of their independent and national organizations, prohibiting child labor and providing for their life and education, abolition of laws and any attitude based on discrimination and national and religious oppression, abolition of repression organs, limiting the authorities of the government, the confiscation of properties of all real and legal individuals and governmental, semi-governmental and private institutions that have taken the property and social wealth of the Iranian people hostage through direct looting or through government, ending environmental destruction, normalizing foreign relations at the highest levels with all the countries of the world based on fair relations and mutual respect, banning the acquisition of nuclear weapons and efforts for world peace.

The Left Party of Iran (People’s Fadaian), while appreciating the solidarity, courage and sense of responsibility of the twenty organizations, considers the presentation of the charter as an important step in connecting different social groups around the twelve demands and in line with the transition from the Islamic Republic and hopes that the cooperation continues and expands and becomes an effective pole in the country's political developments. By supporting the 12-article charter, we will work side by side with the independent organizations who presented the charter to realize it.
