Detained Protesters of recent uprising Must Be Released Immediately!

The repressors of the Islamic Republic killed more than two hundred people on the streets of Iran, wounded hundreds, and piled up their prisons with thousands of demonstrators. The arrests are at high levels and the government’s prosecutors are threatening to arrest many others. The detention centers are well beyond their capacity and in some cities military bases are used as prisons. Many people are ‘missed in action’ and their families do not know where their loved ones are kept or whether they are even alive. The families of the victims are not allowed to hold funerals in any capacity.

The leaders of the Islamic Republic are in competition with each other to suppress protesters and labelling them as the “agents of alien governments” or “criminals”. Khamenei declares "victory" in the war against people. The government has threatened the detainees to face "severe retribution". Hassan Rouhani now holds the prison key within the borders of our country. The murderers of the Islamic Republic are again gathering their agents to launch counter marches in the name of “people”. In fear of more demonstration, the undeclared martial law is in effect on the streets. Schools, universities and major economic centers are closed and the internet is still down. The government refuses to announce the names of detainees and those who were killed in the past few days.

Our uprisings is not done yet. What is truly ‘done’ is the start of the end to the current system of poverty creators and destroyers of the spirit of a country. We continue our struggle in many different ways and forms.

In order to minimize the impact of the ruling tyrant’s actions we must all hasten on our initiatives to help the injured and the families of our martyrs. Let us do our best to obtain the names of detainees in a coordinated effort with other political parties and activists and freedom fighters in our country. The list of detainees must be immediately forwarded to human rights activists and organizations inside and outside the country. Let's deny the government of having the ‘upper hand' in dealing with our jailed citizens. Let us prevent the fake confessions in front of TV cameras. Let us be the bridge connecting the families of martyrs and prisoners and encourage them to demand justice for their loved ones. We must do fund raising inside and outside Iran to help the families in dire financial assistance. We are aware that most victims and detainees belong to the lower income part of our society.

The detainees of the recent uprising must be released immediately. There must be a strong protest against the killing and detention of the people. It is important to take advantage of any civil disobedience and petitioning and especially local and mass strikes. The Iranian people, based on their contemporary experiences, know that the demonstrations on the streets only deliver the final blow when they are coordinated with small and large scale strikes. No state can withstand crippling strikes, no matter how supressing they might be.

Arrested political prisoners are now being tortured to justify Khamenei’s stories such as ‘organized protest by alien governments’. The detainees are the children of the people. They are in front line of our struggle to liberate Iran. They set the path to free our country from the existing murderous state. Our children must not be forgotten for a moment. Let's stand up for our loved ones. Let’s declare our solidarity with the families of martyrs.
