The 4th of November 1978 (13th of Aban 1357) in the daily history of political events of Iran reminds us of the influential presence of brave school students who went to Tehran University on that day when schools were closed to declare their support and solidarity with the university students in the fight against the oppressive regime. School students entered the university and chanted slogans against the Shah's regime along with the university students.
The peaceful gathering of students in the university was bloodied by the repressive forces of the Imperial Guard and dozens of students were killed and injured. The bravery of the youngsters recorded a lasting page in the history of the struggles of the Iranian people.
This year, we welcome Student's Day in conditions where the cry of the Iranian people for freedom echoes throughout our country, and the people's struggle against discrimination, oppression, poverty and injustice, the destruction of people's lives and nature by the Islamic Republic has turned into a revolutionary movement. Iranian students and teenagers play a significant role in this movement.
Iranian students have grown up with the digital world and the free flow of information. They have witnessed cruelty, oppression, discrimination and injustice in all aspects of their lives and their families. This vibrant force has witnessed the conquest of the theological and ideological view of schools and commodification and classification of the educational system and its destructive effects. This rising, questioning and hopeful generation of the society consciously and dauntlessly, challenged the ruling political power and shouted the slogan "woman, life, freedom".
The unprecedented participation of students has strengthened the revolutionary movement and increased the hope of victory over the Islamic Republic. The repressive forces of the theological regime have killed more than forty children and teenagers. But the continuation of the widespread and revolutionary movement of the people has shaken the foundations of the child-killing regime.
In order to achieve freedom and equality, this generation has chosen to participate in the fight against tyranny. Now the struggle of students has a special place and is considered as an integral part of the revolutionary movement of the Iranian people to achieve freedom, democracy and social justice.
Dear Students!
The Islamic Republic, which is killing students in the people's revolutionary movement, this year also intends to prevent your united presence on Student's Day by holding a pro-regime ceremony on the occasion of the anniversary of the occupation of the American embassy. Student's Day is the day of solidarity, the day of struggle for the freedom of imprisoned students, your imprisoned classmates and accompanying the revolutionary movement "Woman, Life, Freedom".
The Left Party of Iran (People’s Fadaian) honors the student's day and honors the widespread presence of the country's future hopes in the revolutionary movement of the Iranian people. Your determined presence to achieve freedom has made our society more hopeful for a better future and building a free and democratic Iran. We fully support your courageous fight against tyranny.
