On January 8, 2020, the Islamic Republic of Iran targeted a Ukrainian passenger plane by firing two missiles and killed 176 passengers including men, women and children. The leaders of the Islamic Republic first denied this action by spreading false news, but when the facts were revealed, they tried to reduce the shooting of the passenger plane to human error, but all the evidence indicated that the shooting was intentional and the passengers of the Ukrainian plane have been victims of the conspiracies of this murderous regime.
The criminal action of the Islamic Republic in firing two missiles at the Ukrainian passenger plane and the subsequent lying caused a wave of protest. With this action, the face of the regime was exposed even more in the eyes of the world. The plaintiff families of the victims of this tragedy have always tried to hold the Islamic Republic and the IRGC commanders accountable for this obvious crime, and with their efforts, the case of this crime was recently sent to The Hague Court.
The Left Party of Iran (People’s Fadaian) supports the efforts of the families of the victims of this horrible incident to file a lawsuit and along with the calls of organizations and civil institutions in Iran as well as invitations abroad to strike, protest and gather on Sunday, January 8, on the third anniversary of this tragedy, as well as commemorating the people's uprising, calls on all the compatriots to participate in these rallies, protests and strikes.
The shooting of the Ukrainian passenger plane in January 2020 was the continuation of the repression and killing of people in January 2020 and November 2019 and continued in the bloody confrontation with the revolutionary movement "Women, Life, Freedom", which has now entered its fourth month. The killings must be stopped and all the detainees and political prisoners must be released. We are confident that the people's revolutionary movement will not be stopped by repression, imprisonment and execution, and with the continuation and expansion of this movement, the chapter of the shameful and criminal life of the Islamic Republic will be closed.
