We are Concerned about People's Lives!

We Condemn Death Sentences against Protesters!

An outbreak of the deadly "Corona" in the cities of the country has caused many worries and official reports indicate the alarming increase in affected cases and deaths from it. This situation is dire and critical but the focus of the regime rather than being on organized prevention of the spread of the disease, is on the side issues such as; prevention of “spreading rumor" and in fact circulation of information! In this regard, even a number of people have been prosecuted and arrested. As always, the Islamic Republic has viewed the Corona tragedy as a security matter.

News implies that this contagious and dangerous disease has been diagnosed two weeks ago in Iran and the Ministry of Health has been aware of this epidemic disease. But the regime of lies, as it did in shooting the Ukrainian plane, stayed on secrecy and denial and refused to act responsibly to inform the public on a timely fashion. But now that this deadly disease of is rapidly reaping human lives, is being forced to release the news and of course drop by drop.

Now it is clear that, despite the subject of communicable disease of "Corona" being at the center of international attention over the past two months and the Islamic Republic (IR) wide relationship with China, it was a complete surprise for the regime and as usual people pay the cost for its act of irresponsibility and incompetency. As the value of human life takes precedence over everything else, at the moment, all the emphasis should be on minimizing losses caused by this disease. We also say this ahead of time that resorting to excuses such as lack of medicines, lack of preventive means, lack of reception centers for patients, etc. is not a decisive factor, especially as the experience of other countries in this area is also available. We sympathize with the families of Corona victims, express our deep concern over the danger threatening the lives of our fellow Iranians and emphasize on the responsibility of the IR!

Another very alarming news was the announcement of the death sentence against three detainees of the November 2019 protests by the IR unjust courts right in the middle of the day of election. Although it was anticipated that the regime would delay the revenge of issuing capital punishment against detainees of the November protests, but hastening in trumpeting the news of the death penalty in the middle of the day of election, only shows the regime's political decision to relentlessly repress protesters.

In such circumstances it is necessary that the opposition and human rights defenders protest in unison against the regime's decision in restarting the machine of political executions. The regime should not be allowed to fulfill its decision to kill protesters. Let us defend the lives of young detainees and condemn the death sentences issued by the IR. Let us call on the international community to react to such verdicts.
